Thoughts:
I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this one, the first book was pretty good and while I did think there was a lot of noise in terms of characters, the story was good and it's nice to not be reading the story of an immediately overpowered, super character.
I can say one thing, I did enjoy the fighting from this one, the writing makes the battles feel urgent and the class of the main character makes it all the more exciting.
Thankfully, there didn't seem to be as many characters to try and think about in this one and the story has got a few different threads it can tug on now, which it manages to keep fresh without it coming across as obvious foreshadowing.
All in all, an excellent read and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into book three.
