I found my own use for AI
I love to learn but I've found that I can very easily be overwhelmed when I start delving into new topics, this is where my use of AI comes in.
I build learning plans using AI that helps me sort what are generally 'beginner' topics to the more advanced things and how I can start and then build my learning from one part to the next.
I have recently found that after 20 years, I've got an enjoyment for maths (which would have been heresy if you'd told me this when I was in school) now maths is a massively broad subject and I started getting lost with where to start.
Being able to give a rough indicator of my skills and abilities and having AI give me resources to develop from where I'm at as well as refreshing my atrophied skills has been incredibly helpful. The nice thing is that I don't have to stick solidly to it, if I find myself drawn to certain bits, I can tweak my plan and ask AI to provide further resources around those topics.
I have been critical over the use of AI in general, but as a tool for helping build education plans and giving resources I find it incredibly useful. The one limit I have put on myself is that I don't use AI to generate any summaries or give me an explanations until I've had a chance to learn and develop on my own with the resources it has given me.
Occasionally, I will use AI as a sounding board to make sure I understand a topic correctly, which I've found has also helped.
I've found the clarity of having a learning plan has helped focus me and has allowed me to get delving into the topics with wild motivation knowing that I have an end goal and the rough outline to get me there.
It's pretty cool.
