allocating some money each month for learning

I've been very fortunate in that I tend to have a small amount of money left over each month once I've paid my bills, put some aside for saving/investing and portioned some of it so me and my partner can do fun things.

I've been wondering what to do with this and initially I was thinking about putting more into investing, but having thought about it, I think a better investment would be for my own learning.

I keep toying with the idea of learning about technology, coding and how I can use it to gain myself more freedom (in the form of self-hosting), now as a complete beginner to all things tech, it's quite intimidating really.

My thought process is that perhaps there is a course(s) that will allow me to develop this knowledge and put my money to use for building my own skills.

I'm quite excited about the thought of it, I now need to find a suitable course¹.
