does this need a title?
My motivation for blogging has dwindled over the last couple of months, I could give you all the usual reasons for this, things like:
- I have nothing to say
- Nobody would care if I did
- This idea seems stupid
But I also think one of the things that holds me back is having to include a title, which I'm aware is another silly reason, but with the sheer amount of clickbait that is out there now, it seems as though choosing a title is now one of the paramount things to think about when creating a post.
Which for someone like me who's generally posting random thoughts with the occasional opinion on other topics, makes it quite difficult because I have no idea what to name these posts.
If you go fancy then nobody knows what the post is going to be about and that's just another reason for them not to care, on the flip side, if you over promise in the title and then don't deliver, well sorry but you're click baiting.
Now, I'm sure some of you will be saying how little it matters because you shouldn't be hung up on wanting people to read your work, but we all know that's a fool's thought. The reason for posting is because you want it to be seen, the hope is that you can find others you relate to and who can understand the position you're taking.
I'm not overly fussed at the amount of views I get, but that doesn't mean I don't want anyone to see my work, if that was the case, it would be much simpler to keep a journal.
Perhaps I should see if AI can come up with some good titles for me or something based on the post I've already written...
As usual, there's no real point to this post other than complaining about the need and importance of titles now in the blogosphere.
