replaced social media with a different form
I can't stand social media; it all feels incredibly performative and/or unauthentic. What I'm now realising though is that the latest changes I've made to this site are all different forms of social media.
I signed up for micro blog, lastFM and letterboxd and then added pages to the site to show what I'm watching, reading and my latest short-form 'thoughts'.
And I'm now not sure how to feel about it.
I came away from social media because I was tired of sharing my 'life' as it were and now I'm doing the same thing in a different way.
I've given myself steps to keep what I'm listening to, reading and watching up to date on the site and although I'm aware that I don't have to keep these updated, I feel like I'd become very agitated if I didn't.
My belief is that I need to start being a bit more intentional with what I'm doing online and the changes I choose to make to the site. I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do about my accounts with those sites and whether to keep them on here.
I suppose it will be good practice with being intentional.
