Thoughts:
I'm looking forward to getting into this one as well, it definitely feels more of a progressive journey as opposed to the over-powered characters from the other series I've read recently.
The action is fast-paced and does have a sense of urgency which I think really melds with the character, I still think this suffers from some too many characters though, I confess to struggling to keep up with the different names, particularly when they have little bearing on the story and instead are there to quickly teach Victor and then disappear.
I am still flying through these books, although again, I do find myself losing track of characters and who's who, I'm also not entirely sure what the main story is going to be, at the minute, it still seems to be a lot of world building but there doesn't seem to be a 'big bad' currently.
I'm still looking forward to getting stuck into the next book.
