Thoughts:
After the somewhat surprising ending of the last book, I'm curious as to where this is going to go, my feeling is that this book is essentially the part where Victor becomes a character that feels 'strong' enough to go onto the next part of the journey.
It also seems to be focusing on two characters (including Victor), which is a definitely a plus after having all the different names thrown at us over the first three books.
This was another book I did seem to fly through and I admit that I've been getting engrossed in the story even without it having that 'big bad' as yet.
It does finally seem to be starting to progress to a point where a real test awaits though so that should provide a good bit of depth to sink into.
